How to Watch the Olympics Online
A quick and handy guide for how to watch the games on a live stream.
The opening ceremonies of the 2012 Olympics in London took place at 1 p.m. P.S.T. on July 27, but it wasn't until primetime .
Some of us can get it live, for free. Live streaming is available online through NBC's Live Extra, if you have a cable subscription that includes CNBC and MSNBC. Sign up is required to access the service, which is free of charge.
Here's how it works:Â

1. Click on the red button under "Watch the Olympics Live" on the Live Extra website.
2. When prompted, select your cable, satellite or telco TV provider (e.g. Comcast, Time Warner, DirecTV, AT&T) from a list.
3. Verify your TV subscription by entering the username/password corresponding to the online account you established with your provider.
