Long Beach Stabbing Victim Dies

Police say man who was attacked by an acquaintance has passed away of his wounds.

A Long Beach man allegedly stabbed by an acquaintance in an alley earlier this month has died in the hospital, police announced Friday.

The victim, identifed as Yoani Flores, 20, passed away Thursday at the hospital where he was taken with critical upper body stab wounds after the April 14 attack in the 1500 block of Pacif Avenue, Long Beach Police Department officials said.

His alleged attacker was reportedly still at the stabbing location with Flores when officers arrived, and has been charged with attempted murder. Arturo Villareal, 21, of Long Beach, remains in L.A. County Jail awaiting court hearings on his arrest.
