At this time of year, we should reflect on the many things for which we are thankful. Here are mine.
I am thankful for old friends and family for their substantial support of what I do and want to do. Whatever that may be. This especially includes bestie Mary, who has been incredible in her support of our outreaches and programs.
I am thankful for the new Makersville community that has emerged and continues to grow. Morio and Caprice, Jesse and Jenne,

I am thankful for having discovered the Maker Movement, which has propelled me forward and provided me with a basis for pulling ideas out of myself. Ideas I did not know existed.
I am thankful for Friend Cindy who has brought her whole home schooling community to us!

I am thankful for Jesse’s desire to create a new event, Family Days, which is everything I ever wanted in a Maker event! I am starting to realize that community is at the heart of Jesse’s every decision. And that rests well with me.
I am thankful for my household family, more loving and caring than ever before.
I am thankful for even Chowder the dog who makes me walk him, make us feed him, stands there outside the door until we open it, steals food from the kitchen counter - because he can - brings us the old, grubby, bite-mark riddled soccer ball and not-so-gently nudges us with it, steps on our toes and has to back out of any corridor because he can’t turn around, and asserts his right to the sofa. Yes, I am thankful for Chowder who provides us with much opportunity for love and mirth.
I am thankful for the Long Beach BSA and Friend John. Together they provided an opportunity for work and volunteering, but also support for the creation of the Club Ten Maker program.
I am thankful for the many Renaissance High School volunteers, who are helping our little Makers to grow.
I am thankful for our little Makers who are coming in wanting to make something, choosing what they want to make, and making them.
There are many other things to be thankful for, but these are what are coming to mind right now.
Today is the last day of Making!
