Man Dies In Hit-And-Run Crash, Police Search For Driver

The Long Beach Fire Department responded to the scene and declared the victim dead, authorities said.

BELMONT SHORE, CA – Police searched Tuesday for a hit-and-run driver that killed a man in Long Beach Monday night.

Around 7:50 p.m. Monday, a Long Beach police officer on patrol in the 5900 block of North Paramount Boulevard located a man down in the street who appeared to have been hit by a car, according to Lt. James Richardson of the Long Beach Police Department.

The vehicle had left the area by the time the officer arrived, Richardson said.

The Long Beach Fire Department responded to the scene and declared the victim dead, Richardson said.

Detectives looked for security video of the incident and a detailed description of the vehicle was not immediately available, Richardson said.
