Officer Rearrested for Sex Crimes with Minors

More alleged victims have been discovered and Long Beach PD's Noe Yanez was charged with multiple crimes including arranging to meet a minor for a lewd sex act.

Long Beach Police Department announced today the re-arrest of an officer, already charged with possessing child pornography, after learning of more alleged victims of sex crimes, including arranging to meet a minor for a lewd act.

Noe Yanez, who was arrested April 19 but free on bail, was taken back into custody today and admitted to L.A. County Jail, where he is being held on $951,000 bail, a Long Beach Police Department news statement stated.

Following his April arrest for allegedly soliciting inappropriate photos of a child, Yanez was placed on unpaid suspension, on which he remained Wednesday, said Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Lisa Massacani.

Yanez, a 9-year member of the department, allegedly first me the child in the porn case in the course of his employment, but it was not clear where he was assigned. The D.A. alleges that Yanez began contacting the minor via text messages, and after their exchanges progressed, solicited inappropriate photos of the victim, who reported it to a school resource officer.

Due to the involvement of children, the law that protects their privacy, and an ongoing investigation, police said few details would be released, and the announcement came after business hours, at 6:45 p.m.

Yanez's posted bail April 20 and was released pending trial. The criminal investigation by the District Attorney's Justice System Integrity Division led to multiple counts filed against the officer Monday. He was arrested Wednesday.

"Following the initial complaint and arrest of Yanez, the Long Beach Police Department continued their investigation, and additional victims were located and interviewed," the police release states.

The counts were not identified except the charge of arranging to meet a minor for lewd purposes.
