Police Locate Stolen U-Haul, Search for Camper

A U-Haul truck that was stolen over the weekend has been located by police, but a family's stolen camper trailer has not been recovered.

Police today recovered a stolen U-Haul truck that was rented by a Northern California family for their move to Long Beach, but a camper trailer that was being pulled by the vehicle remains missing.

The truck and trailer were reported stolen about 2 a.m. Sunday from the 5200 block of Daggett Street on the eastside of the city, where the victims were staying with relatives, said Long Beach police Sgt. Greg Schirmer.

The truck, which still had some property inside, was found about 1:30 this morning in the North Long Beach area, Schirmer said. It was unclear if anything was missing.
