Robbed Passengers Arrive in Long Beach on Carnival
The 22 passengers were on a jungle excursion near Puerto Vallarta Thursday when a gunman relieved them of their money, watches, cameras and other valuables.

A liner arrived in Long Beach Sunday carrying 22 passengers who were robbed at gunpoint on a jungle trail in Mexico Thursday.
The passengers were on a day-trip offboard the cruise ship touring a jungle near Puerto Vallarta last week when a gunman took their money, watches, cameras and other valuables but none were hurt.
On the dock in Long Beach, passenger Kate Berry-Shoefsengers, told KCAL9 that the tourists were on the trail ''single-file, and this robber came out ... and had a bandana over his face, had a gun, spoke in Spanish."

The woman told the television reporter that the tour guide translated and they were instructed to put everything down and leave.
All passengers returned safely to the ship, Carnival spokesman Vance Gulliksen said.

The robber has yet to be apprehended, according to Mexican press reports. In a statement, Gulliksen said the passengers were robbed during a guided nature trail excursion in Puerto Vallarta and that "numerous authorities were notified and responded to investigate, as well as assist the affected guests."
Gulliksen said the tour has been suspended until further notice.
"Carnival is working with guests to reimburse them for lost valuables and assist with lost passports or other forms of identification," Gulliksen said.
"Carnival sincerely apologizes to its guests for this very unfortunate and disturbing event and is providing its full support and assistance."
Earlier this month, the U.S. State Department issued a warning about travel to Mexico because of the rising violence and killings occurring in several states.
The warning came the same week Mexican officials made a massive methamphetamine seizure in the state of Jalisco.
