The Secret Bars at the Queen Mary's Dark Harbor 2018

Spoiler Alert! Don't read this if you want to find it all on your own.

A few weeks ago I discovered a secret door to what was once a secret club at the Hollywood Roosevelt. You know, if you've read my posts before, that I love... Love.... LOVE!.... secrets! They make you a member of the 'club'... an 'insider'. Let's just admit it... they are just a lot of fun! As one fellow I met last Sunday at the Queen Mary's Dark Harbor said... 'I love Easter Eggs!'.

THE EASTER EGGS AT THE QUEEN MARY'S DARK HARBOR

I know I'm confusing it by calling it an Easter Egg... but he said it, not me... and the term Easter Egg is well known. From Wikipedia: "an Easter egg is an intentional inside joke, hidden message or image, or secret feature of a work." It is usually applied to software and digital media, but we know what he meant!

There are four secret bars at the Queen Mary's Dark Harbor.

I was able to access one of these. IT's like a secret treasure hunt. Sort of like the hi-tech game of geocacheing, you are playing your game amongst a sea of muggles (folks who don't know what's going on).

I will let you find the other three on your own. I did find one of them, and it is buried in a maze in one of the videos on my Squigglemom YouTube channel. I could blow the lid on that one also, but I value the hunt, and I think you might too.

HOW TO FIND THE BROKEN COMPASS SECRET BAR

I'm ok with this spoiler, because it is the biggest and most easily accessible. It is also the coolest, I might imagine, because it is in the Queen Mary's engine room. There, I've said it. SteamPunk, history and science enthusiasts will delight in this space which, during the Dark Harbor month of October, is frequented by the Queen Mary's Dark Harbor royalty. Have a drink with the Captain, Gale and the Ringmaster who circulate in the room. As I arrived, two of these celebrities were leaving, and I therefore had no photo ops with them. I did catch the Captain outside and took a photo with him.

I have put together several videos, but the one specific to the Broken Compass secret bar is below.

It's a fun little way to impress your date, but only for those 21 and over! Sadly, you must relinquish your token when you enter.
