Toilet Installation Company Smells Suspect, Warns City
A company falsely claiming to represent the City of Long Beach is going door-to-door offering to install free high-efficiency toilets.
Long Beach water officials today warned residents to be on guard about a company falsely claiming to represent the city.
Representatives of the company -- which was not named -- have gone “door-to-door ... offering to install a free high-efficiency toilet because of the drought,” according to a statement from Long Beach Water. “The company is falsely claiming representation of the city of Long Beach.”
The city “does not affiliate itself with, nor endorse, any contractor,” the statement continued.

Customers doing business with the company do so “at their own risk” regarding materials and quality of service, according to the statement.
