SOLANO COUNTY - You can almost smell the sizzling hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill as you think about the upcoming long Fourth of July weekend.
Cities across Solano County are preparing to host a wide variety of fun events from parades and fireworks to live music and festivals in celebration of the 4th of July.
Personal fireworks are illegal in the county.

Safe-and-sane fireworks are allowed in the cities of Suisun City, Rio Vista and Dixon according to a California website that monitors county-by-county laws.

SOLANO COUNTY -
- Vacaville Creekwalk Fireworks Display – the heart of the celebration will be in Downtown Vacaville at the Creekwalk, but other great places to set up your seats for the show are in the Costco parking lot and the parking lot at Millennium Park.
- Suisun City Waterfront Firework Show – watch fireworks explode above the glistening water, enjoy picnicking, restaurants, music, and activities.
- Dixon Fireworks at the May Fair Grounds – join the festivities in Dixon with live entertainment, a demolition derby, food booths, and plenty of activities for the kids.
- Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo – brace yourself for a thrilling night of roller coasters, rides, and a spectacular pyrotechnic show on July 2, 3, and 4.
- Benicia Picnic in the Park & Fireworks – celebrate with arts, crafts, hot food, live entertainment, and kid’s activities. Finish the day as fireworks light up the night.
- Rio Vista – fireworks display shot from a barge anchored off Mandeville Tip California Delta. It’s the 58th Annual Barron Hilton Fireworks show at dusk! Fireworks can be viewed from land on the Delta Loop, at Windmill Cove and at Village West Marina.
- Fairfield Main Street Association Annual Independence Day Parade! Please join the Fairfield Main Street Association and the City of Fairfield for the Independence Day Parade Monday July 4, 2016 in beautiful Downtown Fairfield.
