Benicia Police Log: Kids Hanging Out, A Dog Barking and No Cars Burglarized

8:31 a.m.: Those suspicious looking characters on East K Street were kids getting ready to start the school day.

12:35 p.m.: The screens at a home on Banbury appeared to have been tampered with.

12:58 p.m.: There was a non-injury traffic collision on Interstate 780.

1:18 p.m.: A resident on Campas was the victim of identity theft.

3:32 p.m.: A residential burglar alarm on Southampton Road was accidentally activated by the people it was supposed to protect.

4:16 p.m.: Officers talked to the neighbors on Riverview who are involved in a dispute.

4:41 p.m.: There was a group of juveniles loitering in front of a home on East I Street.

6:14 p.m.: A residential burglar alarm on Snapdragon malfunctioned.

6:27 p.m.: Officers discovered graffiti on East Third Street.

6:37 p.m.: Employees at a business on Oregon succeeded in setting off the burglar alarm.

8:16 p.m.: Residents at a home on Buchanan were having problems with a phone line and that is why police received a 911 call.

9:02 p.m.: There was a motor home parked illegally on East Second Street.  The owner told investigating officers the vehicle would be moved soon.

9:40 p.m.: A vehicle was repossessed on East Fourth Street.

9:58 p.m.: A business alarm on Southampton malfunctioned.

10:34 p.m.: Officers talked to the people affiliated with the dog that was barking on Clearview.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
