1:51 a.m.: Officers did a walk through at a bar on First Street.

2:16 a.m.: A burglar alarm malfunctioned at a Solano Square business.
2:38 a.m.: Officers investigated an open camper shell on a truck parked on Gill. The owner stated nothing was missing and closed secured the door.

3:41 a.m.: A burglar alarm at a Bayshore Road business appeared to malfunction.
11:25 a.m.: The people in a suspicious vehicle on Gill were waiting for a friend.
12:21 p.m.: Officers couldn’t find anything amiss at a Park Road business where a burglar alarm was activated.
12:26 p.m.: Officers were unable to find the car that was reportedly racing on London.
12:35 p.m.: Officers opened an investigation into a burglary at a home on West 13th Street.
12:53 p.m.: Officers offered assistance to a man on Military East who appeared upset. He declared he was fine.
2:11 p.m.: Officers intervened when an argument erupted on Baker.
2:18 p.m.: Officers found that a set of trashcans on La Cruz weren’t a traffic hazard.
3:19 p.m.: Officers couldn’t find the graffiti artists who tagged a stop sign on Denfield.
3:40 p.m.: Officers began investigating a residential burglary on Bolton.
4:12 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate the rowdy kids hanging out on First Street.
6:32 p.m.: Officers had a discussion with a citizen on Lake Herman Road who was in violation of the Benicia Municipal Code.
7:06 p.m.: A citizen on East Second Street asked for assistance with a family member.
7:21 p.m.: Officers issued a citation for an illegally parked vehicle.
7:32 p.m.: The 911 call from a payphone on East H Street was found to be a prank call.
8:39 p.m.: a 45-year-old Benicia man was arrested for being drunk in public and resisting arrest. He got the opportunity to sober up in Fairfield.
8:59 p.m.: Officers began investigating a hit and run that took place on West J Street.
10:47 p.m.: The suspicious circumstance on Egret turned out to be an employee error.
11:14 p.m.: A resident on East I Street reported an unfamiliar vehicle parked in the area. Officers found the vehicle parked legally and unoccupied.

12:05 a.m.: There was a report of a suspicious circumstance on Ardmore. Investigating officers found nothing suspicious.
4:12 a.m.: Officers were unable to locate a dog that was reportedly barking on Lansing.
4:31 a.m.: A burglar alarm was activated at an East Second Street business. Investigating officers found the business to be secure.
5:40 a.m.: An employee at a Goodyear Road business failed to turn off the alarm in a timely fashion.
7:12 a.m.: An iPhone was allegedly stolen on Southampton Road.
7:56 a.m.: Officers talked to the owner of the dog who was bothering the neighbors on Knight.
9:24 a.m.: Officers assisted in getting a vehicle towed from Goodyear Road.
9:46 a.m.: Officers assisted neighbors on Lindo who were having a disagreement regarding a dog.
1:43 p.m.: A noise disturbance was reported on East L Street. Officers talked to those responsible for the noise.
2:44 p.m.: Officers began an investigation into the vandalism of a vehicle on Rose Drive.
3:16 p.m.: Officers had a discussion with a group of kids who were causing a disturbance on Rose Drive.
3:32 p.m: Officers helped mediate a family disturbance on Buena Tierra.
4:09 p.m.: Officers were on hand for a repossession on Southampton Road.
6:04 p.m.: Officers began an investigation into the violation of a court order.
6:30 p.m.: Officers couldn’t find the person who made a 911 call from a cell phone on Essex.
8:14 p.m.: Officers were on hand to ask the hosts of a party on East L Street to turn the volume down.
9:37 p.m.: There was a disturbance on Poppy involving a juvenile. Officers gave the youngster some counseling.
10:33 p.m.: Officers received a report of a physical disturbance on Military West. They couldn’t find it.
11:42 p.m.: Officers asked the hosts of the loud party on Silas to turn down the volume. The hosts did as requested.

3:06 a.m.: Officers were unable to locate anyone setting off fireworks in the vicinity of El Bonito.
8:09 a.m.: Officers investigated a car with a partially open door on West K Street. Turns out the door was damaged and wouldn’t close properly.
9:27 a.m.: The owners of a home on Rose Drive where the garage door was left open arrived while police were investigating.
9:54 p.m.: A home on York had a burglar alarm malfunction.
10:45 a.m.: Officers couldn’t find the dog that was reportedly running down the middle of East Second Street.
10:47 a.m.: Police received a report of a vehicle causing a traffic hazard on Regis. They couldn’t find the vehicle.
12:04 p.m.: Police received a report of a vehicle in the vicinity of Chelsea Hills that was unfamiliar to the area. It turned out the vehicle belonged to someone who lives in the area.
12:20 p.m.: A vehicle that created a traffic hazard on Rose Drive was towed.
12:41 p.m.: A suspicious vehicle reported on Military East was gone when officers arrived.
1:41 p.m.: A burglar alarm at a business on First Street malfunctioned.
1:42 p.m.: A resident on Buena Vista reported they were the victim of a fraud.
1:44 p.m.: A resident on Clos Duvall reported a court order violation.
1:46 p.m.: A resident on La Cruz managed to move his trashcan out of the street.
1:56 p.m.: Those kids who were skateboarding helmetless on Hastings were gone when officers arrived on the scene.
2:12 p.m.: A 31-year-old Benicia woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued in Napa County.
2:33 p.m.: A 36-year-old Hayward woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued in Napa County.
2:57 p.m.: The kids who were skateboarding on the tennis courts on East K Street agreed to grind somewhere else.
3:03 p.m.: A truck that was blocking First Street was towed.
5:05 p.m.: The alarm at an East H Street business malfunctioned.
6:21 p.m.: Officers received a report of a violation of a court order.
6:27 p.m.: A 46-year-old Vallejo man was arrested for threatening to harm someone on Chadwick. The man was armed.
7:40 p.m.: Officers assisted a citizen on Cambridge with a civil matter.
7:56 p.m.: The folks plying the music loudly on East K Street agreed to turn the volume down.
8:12 p.m.: The alarm activation at an a West I Street home was found to be a malfunction.
9:26 p.m.: A 57-year-old Lafayette man was arrested for drunk driving after running his car off the road near the intersection of East Second Street and Lake Herman Road.
9:54 p.m.: A resident on Larkin reported a possible vehicle burglary. Officers couldn’t find any evidence of a vehicle burglary.
10:27 p.m.: Officers left a note for the owners of a dog that was barking on Cheryl.
10:29 p.m.: Officers talked to the hosts of a party on Larkin that was a bit too loud for the neighbors. The party hosts agreed to turn down the volume.
Editor’s Note: Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
