1:36 a.m.: Police received a report of a loud party on Ardmore but investigating officers wouldn’t find it.

3:03 a.m.: Police opened an investigation into an assault on Park Road.
3:14 a.m.: The owner of a truck parked in a red zone on Grove agreed to move the truck after speaking to officers.

9:41 a.m.: An alarm at a Southampton Road business appeared to malfunction.
9:52 a.m.: A resident on Cambridge reported unfamiliar people in the area playing loud music. The people agreed to turn the music down after speaking to officers.
10:18 a.m.: Officers opened an investigation into a theft from a Columbus Parkway business.
10:57 a.m.: Â Officers were asked to document a hit and run that occurred on Thursday, July 26.
5:08 p.m.: A resident on Morning Glory complained of speeding vehicles.
5:42 p.m.: An employee of an East Channel Road business accidentally set off the burglar alarm.
6:57 p.m.: Officers were asked to document the loss of a pair of prescription sunglasses on Southampton Road.
7:03 p.m.: Officers checked in at a home on Dover where a mother and daughter were in the midst of a family disturbance.
7:28 p.m.: Officers investigating a report of an illegally parked vehicle found that the vehicle in question was parked on private property.
7:43 p.m.: A burglar alarm was activated at a residence on Rose Drive. Investigating officers were unable to determine why the alarm went off.
8:50 p.m.: Officers took the time to talk to a group of skateboarders who were grinding in Solano Square.
9:28 p.m.: That loud noise on West Seventh Street was a construction crew still at work. They agreed to knock off for the night.
11:10 p.m.: A residential burglar alarm was activated on Piercy. Investigating officers found no apparent problems or forced entry.
11:51 p.m.: Police received a report of a man possibly selling drugs on First Street. They were unable to find the guy.

12:02 a.m.: Officers had a talk with three kids who were running onto private property on White Chapel.
2:33 p.m.: A citizen on Military East asked for an officer to sign off on a fix-it ticket. Â
2:39 p.m.: An employee at an East Second Street business accidentally set off the burglar alarm.
3:07 p.m.: The police opened an investigation into a possible hit and run incident on Military East.
3:37 p.m.: Officers gave a warning to a person involved in a verbal altercation.
5:43 p.m.: A citizen reported a group of juveniles in the vicinity of the Commanding Officer’s Quarters. Investigating officers were able to find the kids and determined they were attending a wedding and were taking a break from the festivities.
7:08 p.m.: A homeowner on West F Street accidentally set off the burglar alarm at their home.
8:06 p.m.: Police got a report of kids riding scooters on Interstate 780. They found the kids and had their mom pick them up.
8:30 p.m.: Police received a report of an injured cat on Anita. The cat’s person talked to officers and said they would take care of the animal.
8:48 p.m.: Police arrested a 32-year-old Benicia woman for domestic battery and a probation violation. The arrest took place on Military East.
9:56 p.m.: Police arrested a 54-year-old Benicia woman on Interstate 780 for driving under the influence.
10:04 p.m.: Officers came to a residence on Military East where a mother and daughter were in the midst of a verbal altercation. The two were separated for the night.
10:22 p.m.: Officers looked for but were unable to find the people who were shooting an air gun at passersby on First Street.
11:47 p.m.: Officers went to a residence on Dominic after receiving complaints of loud music. The person playing the music agreed to turn down the volume.

12:30 a.m.: Police received a report of a barking dog on West L Street. The dog stopped barking when officers arrived on the scene.
12:59 a.m.: Police arrested a 29-year-old Hayward man for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The arrest took place on First Street.
1:55 a.m.: Police received a report of an assault on First Street. They interviewed all involved parties, but no one wanted to press charges.
2:50 a.m.: Police received a report of juveniles running around in a West K Street park and being generally noisy. Investigating officers were unable to locate the kids.
2:53 a.m.: Officers received a report of a barking dog on Myrtle. They left a note for the dog’s people.
3:06 a.m.: Police received a report of a domestic disturbance on Rankin. Investigating officers talked to a man and woman who both agreed they were calm and going to bed.
7:31 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a Grant Street address where a man was refusing to leave the premise. The man was gone when officers arrived.
10:57 a.m.: Police received a report of a possible drunk driver on Columbus Parkway. They were unable to locate the driver.
11:16 a.m.: Police arrested a 20-year-old Benicia man on two outstanding warrants issued by Solano County. The warrants were for driving under the influence of drugs and driving on a suspended license.
12:56 p.m.: Police received a report of someone using a loud generator in Alvarez Park. Investigating officers didn’t find anyone using a generator in the park.
1:28 p.m.: A woman on Clos Duvall reported receiving unwanted phone calls from an ex boyfriend. Officers called the ex-boyfriend who agreed to stop calling the woman.
2:12 p.m.: Police opened an investigation into the slashing of tires on two cars parked on East Third Street.
3:51 p.m.: Police arrested a 13-year-old boy for burglarizing a West Seaview home. The boy was released to the custody of his parents.
4:02 p.m.: Police received a report of a loud argument at a residence on Wingfield. Investigating officers found that one participant had left before officers arrived on the scene.
4:50 p.m.: A citizen found a license and credit cards in some bushes and gave them to a clerk at the Superstop Store in Southampton Center. The clerk notified police who were able to locate the owner and return the items.
6:12 p.m.: Officers talked to a group of suspicious persons who were hanging out near a Southampton Road business.
6:57 p.m.: Police received a report of a car parked on a walkway in a park on Hillcrest. The car was gone when officers arrived to investigate.
 6:58 p.m.: Police received a report of a woman in possible distress on Bayshore Road. The woman told investigating officers she was fine.
7:02 p.m.: A 29-year-old Benicia man was arrested on Military East. The list of alleged infractions includes possession of brass knuckles, a probation violation, driving on a suspended license and an outstanding warrant issued in Contra Costa County for a hit and run and another outstanding warrant for reckless driving, this one issued in Concord.
7:15 p.m.: There was a neighbor dispute on West K Street. Officers talked to all involved parties.
7:41 p.m.: A citizen on Solano asked to speak to an officer regarding a family issue.
8:42 p.m.: Officers talked to a person on First Street who was reportedly very drunk.
10:27 p.m.: Police received a report of an elderly man on East Second Street who appeared to be confused. Investigating officers gave the man a ride home.
10:54 p.m.: A resident on Lori Drive reported hearing someone in the bushes. Officers conducted an area search and found nothing suspicious.
11:01 p.m.: Officers were called back to Lori Drive after a citizen reported a man yelling in the area. Once again officers were unable to find anything suspicious.
Editor’s Note: Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
