Friday, May 11, 2012
12:17 a.m.: Officers responded to reports of an altercation on Interstate 680 north. They were unable to locate any disturbance.

2:32 a.m.: Someone was ringing a doorbell on Stephen but the person was gone when officers arrived.
3:49 a.m.: The doorbell ringer had moved to Bradford and once again eluded police officers.

4:07 a.m.: A burglar alarm was activated at a business on East Second Street. Officers investigated and found the business was secure.
5:06 a.m.: A burglar alarm was activated at a business on East Second Street. Officers investigated and found the business was secure.
5:01 p.m.: A juvenile was given a ticket for possession of cigarettes and alcohol.
5:10 p.m.: Officers opened an investigation into a case of domestic violence on Primrose.
6:20 p.m.: A resident on Carlisle reported a suspicious person canvassing the neighborhood offering to wash cars for cash. Police talked to the would-be car washer.
6:25 p.m.: Officers had a little chat with the person who threw and egg at a car on Southampton Road.
7:16 p.m.: There was a non-injury solo traffic accident on Panorama.
8:03 p.m.: The kids who were playing in the pool area of a Southampton Road complex were asked to leave the pool because they didn’t live in the complex.
8:57 p.m.: A 30-year-old Benicia man was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued in Daley City.
9:35 p.m.: There was a juvenile disturbance on Larkin. The kid causing the disturbance got to have a conversation with officers.
10:15 p.m.: Officer began an investigation into a hit and run on West J Street.
10:37 p.m.: The owner of a cell phone and driver’s license found on First Street was contacted and agreed to pick up the items at the police station.
10:43 p.m.: Officers contacted a group of rowdy kids on on Rankin. Officers convinced them to play at a noise level more appropriate for the time of night.
10:54 p.m.: Officers wrote a citation so a car could be towed from private property on Southampton Road.
11:05 p.m.: A resident on Carsten reported hearing someone in the backyard. Officers checked and didn’t find anyone in the yard.
11:44 p.m.: A citizen on First Street was making threats. Officers talked to the threatening person.

12:05 a.m.: A burglar alarm was activated on Park Road. The business was found to be secure.
12:15 a.m.: There was a non-injury traffic collision on Military West.
12:21 a.m. : A resident on Alta Loma heard a loud noise. Investigating officers wouldn’t find a source for the noise.
10:06 a.m.: Officers found that the truck parked in the picnic area of a park on Rose Drive, had permission to be there.
10:16 a.m.: Officers had a discussion with a pair of neighbors on El Bonito who were feuding over barking dogs.
10:26 a.m.: Officers were unable to find the man and woman who were checking mailboxes on McCall.
10:53 a.m.: Officers received a report about a car that was vandalized on Lori Drive.
11:42 a.m.: A vehicle parked on East Second Street was cited for facing the wrong direction.
12:28 p.m.: Officers took a report about an injured cat on Hawthorne. They aren’t sure how the animal was wounded.
1:33 p.m.: The garage of a residence on Rose Drive was burglarized.
1:39 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of kids smoking pot on East Second Street. The kids admitted to getting high and didn’t have any more dope.
2:27 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of a man and woman having an argument on Carlisle.
3:14 p.m.: A motor home illegally parked on Radnor was cited.
3:17 p.m.: Officers received a report of loud music being played in a Rose Drive park.
3:42 p.m.: Officers received a report of a dog off-leash on Washington. Dog and dog’s person were gone when officers arrived.
5:35 p.m.: A vehicle parked on Southampton Road was vandalized.
5:49 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate a possible drunk driver on eastbound Interstate 780.
6:09 p.m.: Officers had a talk with the kids who jumped a fence to get into the pool area of a Southampton Road complex.
6:17 p.m.: Officers had a talk with a man who was trespassing at an East N Street complex.
6:27 p.m.: A 28-year-old Vallejo man was arrested on Interstate 680. The man had been spinning doughnuts at the intersection of Lake Herman Road and Reservoir Road. He tried to evade officers and hit speeds in excess of 80 mph on Lake Herman Road before getting on the freeway where he finally stopped.Â
7:53 p.m.: A man and woman were having an argument about a car that was being towed from a Southampton Road complex.Â
8:20 p.m.: Officers received a report of adults yelling at a group of juveniles on Wast Fifth Street. Everyone had moved along before officers arrived.
8:32 p.m.: A burglar alarm was activated on Park Road. Officers investigating the incident found the business was secure.
10:30 p.m.: Officers talked to the host of a loud party on East G Street. The party host agreed to bring the noise level down.
10:47 p.m.: Officers investigated a report of shots being fired in the vicinity of East Second Street. They were unable to find anyone shooting a gun.
Sunday, May 13 2012 (Mother’s Day)
12:47 a.m.: A person who was kicked out of a First Street bar tried to come back in. After speaking with police officers the person left the area.
1:03 a.m.: Officers received a report of pellets being shot at cars driving on Capitol. Officers searched the area but didn’t find anyone with a pellet gun.
8:22 a.m.: A resident on Piercy called to report a car that appeared to be abandoned. The registered owner apparently lives in the area.
9:19 a.m.: Police opened an investigation into a car burglary that occurred on East Industrial.
12:10 p.m.: A guest at an establishment on East Second called to say a man in her room wouldn’t leave.
1:02 p.m.: A resident on Vista Grande reported receiving harassing emails from an ex-girlfriend. Officers talked with both parties involved.
1:57 p.m.: Officers responded to a call regarding a possible drunk driver on Interstate 789 east.
3:50 p.m.: A woman reported that she was choked by a man at an apartment on Cambridge.
4:40 p.m.: A resident on Stephen thought it was fishy when two men emerged from the neighbors yard.
7:09 p.m.: The folks in that suspicious vehicle spotted on Windsor were looking for an old friend.
7:29 p.m.: Officers stood by quietly while children were exchanged on Military East.
8:03 p.m.: A suspicious vehicle spotted on Lake Herman Road was driven by someone who wasn’t suspect.
8:06 p.m.: Officers offered to try to mediate a family disturbance on Warwick.
9:14 p.m.: There was a report of suspicious persons in the parking lot of a Park Road business. The people were gone when officers arrived.
10:00 p.m.: A resident on El Bonito asked for police assistance in getting a sister to text less.
10:39 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate a suspected drunk driver on Interstate 780 west.
Editor’s Note: Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
