Benicia Police: Officers Separate Angry Family Member and Come to the Aid of a Goose

12:17 a.m.: A woman on La Cruz called police to report that her adult son was harassing her regarding a civil matter.  Officers managed to separate the two.

12:37 a.m.: There was a commercial burglary at a First Street business.

1:44 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Military East business.

8:32 a.m.: Police received a report of a suspected shoplifter at a Solano Square business.  They continue to investigate.

8:45 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Military West business.

9:15 a.m.: A homeowner on West K Street failed to turn off the burglar alarm in a timely fashion.

10:06 a.m.: Officers searched for but were unable to locate a suspicious vehicle reportedly in the vicinity of Turner Drive.

10:16 a.m.: Officers assisted a goose that was tangled up in fishing line.  There was no indication that the fishing line was blue.

10:25 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a residence on Cambridge.

11:02 a.m.: A guest at an area hotel received a call from someone claiming to be a hotel worker who needed verification of a credit card.  It turned out to be a fraudulent call and unauthorized charges were made on the credit card.

12:15 p.m.: A license plate was either stolen or fell off a car parked on Southampton Road.

1:11 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at an East L Street business.

2:15 p.m.: An unsecured door at a business on East Industrial way caused the burglar alarm to activate.

6:11 p.m.: There was a domestic disturbance on Military East.

6:58 p.m.: Police received a report of someone riding the wrong way down Military East on a motor scooter while not wearing a helmet.  Officers couldn’t find the person.

7:12 p.m.: A citizen requested a police presence while they retrieved items from an East N Street address.  There was no one home.

7:35 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at an East Industrial Way business.

9:04 p.m.: There was a verbal disturbance on Buena Vista.

10:16 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a West K Street residence.

10:36 p.m.: A resident on Military West reported threats made by a neighbor.  Officers spoke to the neighbor making the threats.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
