Skyline Drive Fire: Evacuations Lifted In Vallejo
See a list of the evacuated areas. Others were ordered to shelter in place.

VALLEJO, CA — Evacuations were lifted at 9 p.m. Tuesday in a 4-alarm vegetation fire that damaged at least one East Vallejo home and threatened multiple others.
The Skyline Drive Fire was knocked down shortly before 7 p.m., the Vallejo Fire Department said, but evacuations remained in place until firefighters cleared the area.
The blaze broke out around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Skyline Drive and Silverview Court, near Hanns Park in East Vallejo.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m., a message was sent via Alert Solano, the county's emergency notification system, notifying the public that evacuations were ordered for Skyline Drive between Vervais Avenue and Pajaro Way, for Silverview Court and for Pajaro Way.
"If you live near the above-listed areas, shelter in place," the Alert Solano message read. "Stay indoors, and close your doors and windows to prevent smoke from entering your home."

Firefighters from Benicia, American Canyon and Crockett were among those who responded to help battle the wildfire.
The general public was told to avoid the area to allow for access for emergency vehicles.
"We appreciate our community's willingness to follow directives given by emergency personnel while the 4-alarm fire threatened homes," Vallejo FD said. "When our citizens heed emergency orders, it allows for quick and organized access for responding emergency resources."
