Lockdown Lifted At Benicia Middle School
Graffiti prompted the precautionary lockdown but police found it was not a credible threat, district officials said.
BENICIA, CA — A lockdown Wednesday morning at Benicia Middle School has been lifted after police investigated graffiti found in a student bathroom, according to officials with the Benicia Unified School District.
The district said at about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday that the school at 1100 Southampton Way was placed under precautionary lockdown and police were notified of the graffiti.
In a follow-up statement issued at about 10:20 a.m., district officials said: "police investigated and it was determined that it was not a credible threat. The lockdown was lifted by Benicia Police Department. All students and staff are safe."

The content of the graffiti was not immediately clear.
