More Rain, Cold Weather On Tap For Bay Area
Snow accumulations could reach 1 to 3 inches on the highest peaks in the East Bay, North Bay and Santa Cruz Mountains.
SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, CA — Light rain is expected in the Bay Area late Monday followed by cold Tuesday night and stronger rain Wednesday through Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Monday evening rain will begin in the North Bay and spread south through early Tuesday with up to a half an inch possible north of San Francisco. Other regions in the Bay Area are forecast to receive less than a tenth of an inch.
Clouds will clear out Tuesday night and winds will be light leading to a night with a chill in the air, especially in the inland valleys.
Lows overnight Tuesday are expected to be in the mid-30s to low 40s. Stronger, widespread rain arrives in the region Wednesday night and with it breezy to gusty winds and snow at lower levels. Conditions are expected to last through Thursday with rain lingering into early Friday morning.

Weather officials said there's an outside chance for thunderstorms Wednesday through Friday morning because of cold, unstable air.
