Naughty or Nice: SantaCon is Coming to Town

SantaCon is many things to many people. For some it's a pub crawl, for others a means to hang out with friends and meet new people, and if nothing else, it's a spectacle to behold.

It's possible you've seen them before. Thousands decked out in the customary red suits and white beards, spreading holiday cheer on the streets of New York. The revelers have been seen throughout parts of London and even Beijing. 

Beginning Saturday, from about 5 p.m. till 9 p.m., the streets of Benicia are expected to turn red, and white, and perhaps even a bit jollier as dozens — maybe hundreds or even thousands — descend upon the streets of Benicia decked out in their best jolly, ol' Saint Nick duds.

The event is described as, "a grown up pub crawl embracing the naughty and nice side of Santa," according to the Santa Con Benicia Facebook page. Bags for treats, a map of who is participating and the cover for a song book will be provided. Then it's an amble down the street, showing off your Santa duds, frolicking in the pubs of Benicia.

According to the official SantaCon website, some will cater to children, because, "Santa does not make children cry." However, each is different, and unless explicitly stated one must assume that every SantaCon event is for adults - where, according to the site, "guys and girls of legal age dress up like Santa and go cavorting around town for no better reason than that it's huge fun."
