1 Hospitalized In Officer-Involved Shooting In Fairfield
A young man injured in an officer-involved shooting Wednesday was in hospitalized in critical condition, according to police.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — UPDATED: A 22-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot by law enforcement officers in Fairfield Wednesday afternoon, police said. At 3:40 p.m., Fairfield police officers and Solano County sheriff's deputies tried to stop a pedestrian on Crowley Lane near Pennsylvania Avenue. During the stop, an officer-involved shooting occurred that resulted in the suspect being shot and injured.
The scene of the shooting was closed and the man received medical assistance before being taken to a trauma center where he is in critical condition, police said. By 10 p.m. Wednesday, investigators had finished processing the scene and Crowley Lane reopened to traffic.
Police did not provide further details about the suspect, his injury, or the circumstances surrounding the shooting. They also did not say whether he was shot by a Fairfield police officer, a sheriff's deputy or both.

ORIGINAL STORY: A person injured in an officer-involved shooting Wednesday in Fairfield has been taken to a trauma center at a local hospital and traffic near the site of the police activity has returned to normal, Fairfield police now say.
At about 4 p.m. Wednesday, police sent an alert asking the public to avoid Crowley Lane off of Pennsylvania Avenue because of police activity — potentially an officer-involved shooting — in the area. Fairfield Police Department issued an alert saying multiple agencies were involved.
A Twitter post by a KTVU reporter said according to sources with the Solano County Sheriff's Office, one person was injured in an officer-involved shooting as a warrant was being served. Personnel from the Fairfield Police Department and the sheriff's office were at the scene, the reporter said.
Just before 5 p.m., Fairfield police sent an updated alert confirming the police activity was the result of an officer-involved shooting.
"No officers were injured during the incident and there is no ongoing threat to community," police said in the update.
