Real McCoy Ferry Back In Service After US Coast Guard Inspection

The Caltrans ferry that serves Ryer Island was out of service for two weeks for the required inspection.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Caltrans' State Route 84 Real McCoy Ferry II was back in service this week after the boat passed its required five-year U.S. Coast Guard inspection.

The Real McCoy went out of service Feb. 11 and was returned to service Wednesday, Feb. 24.

"The Department thanks for motorists and residents for their patience during the required inspection," said Pedro Quintana, Caltrans District 4 spokesperson.

Caltrans operates and maintains the SR-84 Real McCoy and its companion ferry, the SR-220 J-Mack Ferry in the Delta.

The Real McCoy provides service to Ryer Island residents, visitors and their cars by crossing the Cache Slough to Rio Vista.
