"We are thrilled to be able to offer our full selection of rides and attractions for the first time in over a year."

VALLEJO, CA — In an announcement Friday, Six Flags said 21 of the company's 26 parks in North America, including the "Thrill Capital of Northern California" right here in the North Bay, are open or have the approval to open for the 2021 season.
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo and Six Flags Magic Mountain in Southern California will reopen April 1-2 to members and season pass holders and April 3 to the general public.
"Californians are ready to visit their favorite Six Flags theme park and have some fun," said Bonnie Weber, senior vice president of park operations for Six Flags. "Last year, we set the standard for safely operating our parks and entertained nearly seven million guests in adherence to government and CDC health guidelines. We will follow those same stringent guidelines as we reopen our rides and attractions in our California parks."

WHAT TO KNOW
- Park reopening dates are subject to change based on local, state and federal coronavirus-related guidelines.
- Because attendance caps are in place to allow for proper social distancing, all guests, members and season-pass holders must schedule their visit using the Six Flags online reservation system. Guests can make reservations for single-day tickets as part of the online purchase process.
- Current state guidelines prohibit anyone other than California residents from purchasing tickets and/or making reservations, Six Flags said Friday. Proof of residency may be required upon entrance.
- Six Flags prohibits park entry if guests have recently been exposed to or are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. Contactless IR thermal imaging is used to screen temperatures of guests and employees prior to entry, and bags are screened using touchless technology.
- Distance markers have been added to line queues. Riders on all roller coasters, rides, and attractions will be physically distanced in accordance with local and state guidelines.
- Guests over 2 years old must wear a face mask, including on rides. Disposable masks are available at Guest Relations, while reusable masks can be purchased.
- Hand sanitizer stations are positioned throughout the park and trained "cleaning teams" are in place to keep high-touch points sanitized and disinfected.
- Cash is no longer accepted as a form of payment at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom parking toll booths, restaurants, retail stores, games, ticket windows or any other in-park locations. Only card and mobile payments are accepted. Guests can use Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a debit card for purchases, or can convert their cash to a prepaid debit card for no upfront fee immediately inside the park entrance or at any "Cash to Card" kiosk within the park.
