Rite Aid Employee Is 'Kind, Helpful': Benicia Hero

BENICIA, CA— When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Benicia resident Kristine Hoffman, who nominated Rite Aid employee Eugene Piernas.

Relationship to nominee:I shop at Rite Aid

Reason for recognition: He is kind, helpful and picks up things on my list for me. He grabs a cart if I have too many things to carry. I am a Senior, and I love him.

One thing to know: He is kind, considerate and always helpful and positive.
