Road Work Begins Monday on City Streets
The Public Works Department will begin yearly slurry seal project to extend working life of streets throughout Benicia.

Benicia’s Public Works Department will begin a citywide slurry seal project on Monday, July 30. The project will continue through the middle of August and will affect mostly Southampton area streets.
Slurry seals are a mixture of emulsified asphalt, aggregates and other fillers. Slurry seals are used throughout California to extend the life of roads by three to five years.
Residents will get a 24 hour notice when their streets will be affected. Everyone should expect some delays while the project is underway.
