Solano County Man Dies In Motorcycle Crash At I-80 Offramp: CHP

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A 65-year-old Dixon man died in a motorcycle crash Wednesday night at an offramp from Interstate Highway 80, the California Highway Patrol said.

CHP officers responded at 6:37 p.m. to the westbound offrramp to Manuel Campos Parkway in Fairfield, where a motorcyclist and a group of other motorcyclists he was riding with exited the freeway.

The Dixon man suffered major injuries when he left the roadway on his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle and crashed into a drainage trench, CHP Officer David Harvey said.

The motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vacaville, where he died from his injuries.

The fatal crash remained under investigation Thursday; neither alcohol nor drugs were believed to be factors in the collision, Harvey said.

The Solano County Sheriff-Coroner's Office was expected to release the motorcyclist's name once his next of kin were properly notified.
