BENICIA, CA— When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This nomination is for Benicia residents Cynthia "Sindy" Harris and Steve Morgan, who volunteer for Caltrans picking up litter.

Reason for recognition: "Steve and Sindy took on picking up 12 miles of the I-780 thru Benicia and Vallejo to make a difference. The I-780 is undoubtedly the cleanest freeway in all the Bay Area."

One thing to know: "They are busy making a difference, not just talking about it."
