Rental Rates For Homes and Condos In Berkeley

If you are looking for a rental unit in Berkeley, be prepared to pay between $2,200 and $3,800 a month, depending on what you need.

The median monthly rent right now in Berkeley for all sizes of condominiums and homes listed through real estate agencies is about $2,600, according to the multiple listing sources that local agents use. It does not include owner listings on sites such as craigslist.

Rachael Hand, a broker associate with Coldwell Banker, said rents are on the rise in part because people who have gone through short sales and foreclosures are renting because they cannot currently qualify for a home loan.
