Whoopi Goldberg has won an Academy Award, two Golden Globes, a Tony and an Emmy. And it all started right here in Berkeley. As a young Caryn Johnson, Goldberg worked regular jobs while trying her hand at improv.

Now resettled in Brooklyn where she works on The View, Goldberg has listed her Berkeley compound for sale some 30 years after she purchased it. In addition to the main house built in 1890, the property includes a barn-like cottage with plenty of living space.

The home is a few blocks off University Avenue and near the Downtown BART station.
