Beverly Hills Mansion Prince Once Painted Purple For Sale

The palatial Beverly Hills mansion that Prince once painted purple is on sale for $30 million, or $80,000 a month.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Doves might cry when they see the price of the Beverly Hills mansion that Prince once painted purple: For $29.995 million, you can live in the 10-bedroom palace right off Sunset Boulevard that was once also home to Elizabeth Taylor.

Built in 1953, the home was purchased in 2004 by Carlos Boozer, a former NBA All-Star and Olympic gold medalist who rented the mansion to Prince for a reported $70,000 a month. When Prince painted the house his signature purple, the Prince symbol, and the numbers 3121 (the name of one of his albums) Boozer filed suit, saying he was violating the terms of the lease. He eventually dropped the suit, and Prince restored the house to its original state when he moved out.

And what a state that is. The home has 10 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a ballroom, wine room, terraces with city and ocean views (great for partying like it’s 1999), a rooftop tennis court, indoor gym, and pool. The mansion is also for lease at $80,000 per month.
