Beverly Hills Police Captain Retires After 33 Years

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The retirement of a Beverly Hills police captain who spent his entire 30 years in law enforcement with the department was announced Thursday.

Capt. Lincoln Hoshino began his career with the Beverly Hills Police Department as a police cadet in 1986 and was sworn in as a police officer in December of that year, according to a statement from department.

During his three decades with the BHPD, Hoshino served in the Bike Unit, as a Field Training Officer, a member of the Special Response Team, Range Master Instructor, Sergeant, Defensive Tactics Instructor, in the Professional Standards and Intelligence Units, Lieutenant, Chief's Executive Officer and Captain since 2017, the statement said.

Hoshino also served as Staff Advisor for the Police Foundation and Charitable Solicitations Commission, the department said.

Hoshino was awarded the 1995 Rotary Club Officer of the Year, the 1999 Allen H. Karlin Memorial Award and the 2018 Rotary Vocational Award.

Police Chief Sandra Spagnoli announced Hoshino's retirement effective Thursday.
