Spa Owner Claims Innocence on Facebook

Maria Gabriella Perez was arrested Wednesday by federal agents on suspicion of credit card fraud.

At 2:57 a.m. Thursday, Maria Gabriella Perez posted the following announcement on Chez Gabriela's Facebook profile:

"To all friends of Chez Gabriela, and others, you are invited to remember that everyone is innocent until proven otherwise. Chez Gabriela will be exonerated of all allegations soon."

Perez, the owner of Chez Gabriela Studio on North La Peer Drive, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of taking credit card information from celebrity clients and running up $300,000 in fraudulent charges, according to wire reports. Perez, 51, faces two counts of access device fraud, a charge that carries a maximum sentence of 25 years in federal prison, prosecutors said.

The affidavit in support of the criminal complaint alleges Perez's celebrity victims include Jennifer Aniston, Anne Hathaway, Liv Tyler, Melanie Griffith and Cher.
