'Dodger Killer' Justin Verlander Hit With $1M Bill At LA Hotel

Although the Houston Astros beat the LA Dodgers in the 2017 World Series, the Beverly Hills Hotel got the last laugh.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Looks like the wounds are still fresh from the 2017 World Series, where the Houston Astros beat the Los Angeles Dodgers with help from pitcher Justin Verlander. The Astros pitcher had lunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel last Friday and was hit with a hefty bill worth more than $1 million.

The pitcher posted the receipt on Twitter, which included an "open miscellaneous charge" of $1 million for being a "Dodger killer." Boy, do LA fans know how to hold a grudge.

Never mind the $10 cranberry juice and $42 salads, because the prank was all in good fun. Verlander wrote "Thanks for the great lunch as always!"

The bill is still within the pitcher's price range, as he reportedly earns a $28 million annual salary, NBC Sports reported.
