Dr. Frank Ryan, Famous Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon, Dies at 50
The doctor known for operating on Heidi Montag died when his Jeep plunged off PCH, fell down a rocky embankment and landed on its roof.

Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Frank Ryan, most recently known for performing 10 cosmetic surgeries on reality TV star Heidi Montag, died when his car plunged off a Malibu Highway at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Ryan, 50, was trapped in the vehicle with major head injuries when the Ventura County Fire Department tried hoisting him using a helicopter, but the attempt was called off and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to TMZ.com.
"The Jeep veered to the right and ran off the roadway," CHP Officer Steve Reid said. "The Jeep overturned down a rocky embankment towards the ocean and eventually came to rest on its roof."

According to a Twitter message posted earlier by Ryan, he had just finished hiking a sand dune along Pacific Coast Highway with his dog before the accident.
"After 25 years of driving by, I finally hiked to the top of the giant sand dune on the pch west of Malibu," he tweeted. "Much harder than it looks! Whew!"

Ryan's dog was seriously injured, Reid said. It was taken to a veterinary hospital for treatment.
"[Ryan] was the most amazing person I have ever known," Montag tweeted Tuesday morning. "He was an angel and changed my life and the lives of everyone he met."
The list of procedures Ryan performed on Montag, a star of MTV's The Hills, included breast implants, a nose job, Botox in her forehead, a brow lift, fat injections in her cheeks, a chin reduction and liposuction, according to CNN.com.
