Iconic Godfather Mansion On Sale For $125 Million

The 50,000-square foot palace was the site of an iconic "Godfather" scene, and was also home to William Randolph Hearst.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Talk about an offer you can’t refuse: the 50,000-square foot, 18-bedroom Beverly Hills mansion that was the filming site of the infamous horse head scene from “The Godfather” is now on sale.

A few people might actually refuse the offer when they get a look at the price tag of the storied Beverly House: financier Leonard Ross is listing the estate, which was once home to William Randolph Hearst and also served as John F. Kennedy’s honeymoon destination and the West Coast headquarters of his 1960 electoral campaign, for $125 million dollars.

You do get your money’s worth, though: in addition to living in a piece of history, the mansion boasts 18 bedrooms, 25 bathrooms, two screening rooms, a full nightclub, swimming pool, and terraces that can accommodate up to 400 guests.

The house, located just a few blocks from Sunset Boulevard and the Beverly Hills Hotel at one of the city's highest points, was built in 1927 by Gordon Kauffmann, the architect who would later design the Hoover Dam. It became famous – or infamous – when serving as the backdrop of the “Godfather” scene where movie producer Jack Woltz wakes up to find the bloody head of a prized racing horse on his bed.

But don’t worry, the sheets have since been changed, and if you have a spare $125 million lying around, this top-of-the-line mansion could be yours.
