Head To The Original Farmers Market & Be Transported To Bavaria

A celebrated chef, with Austrian roots, is prepping two days of Oktoberfest fare at L.A.'s Market Tavern. Prost to that!

LOS ANGELES, CA — When a two-time James Beard Award-nominated chef, who hails from Austria, is planning an Oktoberfest menu at a local eatery, we say, "Oom-pah!"

Bernhard Mairinger, Patina's former chef de cuisine and past owner of BierBeisl Imbiss & Bakery in downtown Los Angeles, is collaborating with Market Tavern for Bavarian-inspired specials Friday and Saturday, Oct. 2-3.

Market Tavern is a British-styled gastropub with a rock-n-roll vibe that opened in August at The Original Farmers Market in Los Angeles' Beverly Grove neighborhood.

But put aside the bangers and mash! On the two-day, Oktoberfest menu will be pint and stein specials, along with Mairinger's curated Obatzda crostini and German-sausage plates with sauerkraut and pretzels, plus strudel for dessert. (Details below.)
