I-405 Northbound Lanes to Receive 12-Hour Reduction

Concrete paving will reduce lanes between Sunset Boulevard and Getty Center Drive.

By Matthew Sanderson

As the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project moves into the summer, a major lane reduction takes place Friday night into Saturday.

Here are the latest details:

  • Lane 1 and 2 will be closed on the northbound I-405 from Sunset Boulevard to the Getty Center Drive ramps.
  • The lane reduction will be implemented the night of Friday, June 21 at 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday morning on June 22.
  • Lane reduction will last 12 hours, from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.
  • Lanes 3, 4 and 5 will remain open.
Metro states this lane reduction is necessary to conduct concrete paving on the center median area of the freeway to facilitate widening of the mainline for the carpool lane.
