Kitten Hitchhikes Across California In Car Engine
That strange purring heard from San Francisco to Beverly Hills wasn't something a mechanic could fix.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – A Toyota Prius driver traveling from San Francisco to Beverly Hills heard a strange purring coming from under the hood of her car. Instead of calling a mechanic to fix the noise, she turned to firefighters.
Beverly Hills firefighters found a small kitten curled up in the engine compartment of the Prius. The driver thinks the cat crawled under the hood while she was in San Francisco, and held on all the way to Beverly Hills.
When the driver heard meowing, she popped the hood and called the Beverly Hills Fire Department for help. Now, the kitten is safe at animal care and control, KTLA reported. Firefighters are used to saving cats from trees – but from the look on that firefighter's face, saving a kitten from a car engine doesn't happen often.
