Alleged Skin Care Scammer Released on Bond
The owner of Beverly Hills' Chez Gabriela Studio faces two counts of access device fraud.

Maria Gabriella Perez was released after posting a $50,000 secured bond on Aug. 19, according to wire reports. It was her first federal court appearance after being arrested a day earlier at her business/residence by Secret Service agents. Perez is facing two counts of access device fraud, which carry a maximum sentence of 25 years in federal prison.
Perez, 51, owner of Chez Gabriela Studio on North La Peer Drive in Beverly Hills, is accused of taking credit card information from celebrity clients and . Some of Perez's alleged victims include Jennifer Aniston, Cher, Anne Hathaway and Liv Tyler.
An investigator with American Express told the Secret Service that he had discovered more than $200,000 in fraudulent charges made last year alone from Chez Gabriela Studio to two AmEx credit cards belonging to Tyler, according to the affidavit in support of the criminal complaint against Perez.

The day after Perez's arrest, Jennifer Aniston appeared on Good Morning America and commented on her relationship with Perez, a self-proclaimed skin care expert.
"We had a situation that was not cool so I just stopped going to her," Aniston said. "I knew something like this would eventually happen because there's no way you can get away with that. It's terrible."

When asked how severely Perez had allegedly swindled her, Aniston said that it "wasn't to the extent of the other girls."
Perez has claimed her innocence in a post on Chez Gabriela Studio's Facebook profile.
A U.S. magistrate judge has set Perez's arraignment for Sept. 20, according to wire reports.
