Wilshire Boulevard Reopens
A section of Wilshire Boulevard closed since March reopened Monday.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Beverly Hills announced Monday that all of Wilshire Boulevard is now open to traffic.
A section of the thoroughfare from Crescent to Beverly Drive was closed since March, when the City Council voted to close off the section to take advantage of the reduced traffic flow so that expedited work on the Metro Purple Line extension could continue. The piling work completed Monday was originally scheduled to last until next March is now complete. Other piling work expected to continue until August was completed in early May, according to city reports.
The work is preparing for two new Purple Line stations: one at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard expected to open in 2023, and one at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Rodeo Drive expected in 2025. In anticipation of these stations and the increased pedestrian traffic they will bring, Beverly Hills has also launched an initiative to make these areas more pedestrian friendly.
