Man Found Bleeding, Unconscious Near Beverly Cañon Gardens
One suspect is in custody for attempted murder after police found a man unconscious on Beverly Drive early Thursday morning.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Beverly Hills police are investigating a possible attempted murder near Beverly Cañon Gardens that left two men injured.
Beverly Hills police found an unresponsive man bleeding from several wounds at the rear of 200 N. Beverly Drive at 1:45 a.m. Thursday, according to a BHPD statement. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where police say he is in stable condition.
At around the same time, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call approximately one and a half miles away from the Beverly Hills incident. The subject of the call told LAFD personnel that he had suffered an injury in Beverly Hills, prompting Beverly Hills police to further investigate.

Upon investigation, police placed the suspect, 29-year-old Lawrence Lawson of Los Angeles, under arrest on suspicion of attempted murder. Lawson’s bail has been set at $1,000,000, and he is currently in custody at the Beverly Hills Police Department. His court date is set for May 24, according to police.
Beverly Hills detectives continue to investigate the incident. Beverly Cañon Gardens Park and its reopened at 3:50 p.m. Thursday after being closed the whole day, BHPD Lt. Max Subin told Patch.

The weapon has not been recovered, nor is there any information regarding a motive.
