New Performing Arts Center is 'Game Changer' for Beverly Hills

Richard Rosenzweig of the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills highlights the features of the two new theaters in the city.

The recently-opened Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts plans to make far-reaching arts and culture strides with its two theaters and other amenities.

Richard Rosenzweig, vice chairman of planning for the center's board of directors, tells Patch they are very excited about the new venture and invites the community to come see it for themselves.

"We have been able to accommodate things in a small theater that other small theaters haven't been able to accommodate, such as a scene shop, dressing rooms, the areas to create the sets, the areas to create the garments for the performers," Rosenzweig said. "We have a room that can accommodate two very large grand pianos."

But what about leg room for the audience?

"Every seat is a perfect seat," Rosenzweig added.

The first performance is Nov. 8 and Nov. 9 with the Martha Graham Dance Company. Rosenzweig notes the following performances vary from dance, theater, opera, jazz and a diverse range of work "that all of Los Angeles will enjoy."
