Police Blotter: Spitting, Purse Snatching and a Repo Gone Awry

Unruly teens, quarreling lovers and shoplifters make this week's list.

Just after midnight on June 12, two males described as being 16 years old and about 200 pounds—one 5 feet, 9 inches with strawberry-blond hair, the other 5 feet, 8 inches with black hair—robbed a woman in the area of North Gale Drive and North San Vicente Boulevard. The victim reported that the suspects exited a vehicle, began to follow her and then pushed her to the ground. They then snatched her purse and ran away. The victim reported losses of $600.

At 3:45 p.m. on June 14, a woman described as being 34 years old, 5 feet, 4 inches tall and 130 pounds allegedly assaulted her ex-boyfriend on the 8900 block of Wilshire Boulevard. The brown-haired, brown-eyed suspect reportedly knocked the cell phone out of the victim's hands, took the cell's battery, spat on the victim and then fled the scene.

At 4 p.m. on June 15, a man described as being 40 years old, 6 feet tall and weighing 240 pounds entered a business through an unlocked rear door on the 200 block of North Beverly Drive. The brown-haired suspect allegedly went into the storage room and swiped an unattended purse from a shelf. The victim reported losses of $300.

Looged

Around noon on June 16, a male described as being 20 years old, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 155 pounds allegedly assaulted someone on the 300 block of North Rodeo Drive. The victim reported being spat on by the strawberry-blond suspect following a parking dispute.

Bad roommates

At about 5:30 p.m. on June 16, police responded to a domestic dispute on the 9900 block of Robbins Drive. A cohabitating couple allegedly got into an argument, resulting in both the boyfriend and girlfriend striking and scratching each other.

Bike rage

At 6:30 p.m. on June 16, a man riding a bicycle allegedly assaulted a woman while she was driving her car on the 200 block of South La Cienega Boulevard. The suspect, described as being 30 years old with brown hair, allegedly pulled up alongside the victim, kicked her car and then spat at it.

Clean quarters

Sometime during the night of June 16, someone kicked in the door to an apartment building laundry room on the 400 block of South Oakhurst Drive. The suspect then forced open the washing machines and made off with $50 in change.

Fresh off the shelf

Just before 3 p.m. on June 17, someone stole merchandise from a business on the 300 block of North Beverly Drive. The unknown suspect allegedly entered the premise, removed items from the shelves, put the items in a bag and then fled the scene. The stolen goods were reportedly worth $500.

On the clock

At 5:30 p.m. on June 17, a man described as being 47 years old, 6 feet, 1 inch tall and 226 pounds reportedly assaulted a repo man on the 100 block of South Linden Drive. The victim told police that he and a witness came to the suspect's residence to reposes a car in the building's subgarage. After the vehicle was attached to the tow truck, the black-haired, brown-eyed suspect allegedly confronted the victim, punched him and ripped his sweatshirt.

Under your seat

Sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on June 17, a purse was allegedly stolen from a restaurant on the 9500 block of Wilshire Boulevard. The victim claims that it was snatched from underneath her seat, and reported losses of $3,800.

Bagged

At 10:30 p.m. on June 17, someone stole goods from a store on the 9600 block of Wilshire Boulevard. The suspect allegedly selected a purse valued at $350, concealed it in a shopping bag and then exited the premise.

Sidewalk snatch

At 10:30 p.m. on June 18, someone allegedly took property that was briefly left unattended on the sidewalk of the 300 block of South Linden Drive. The owner reportedly returned after several minutes and the property, valued at $850, was missing.
