Rescue Dog of the Week: Roxxie the Lab on Wheels

This gentle Lab mix needs a little extra help from a human companion.

Roxxie is a 10-year-old Lab mix who weighs 74 pounds. This gentle lady needs extra TLC after undergoing hemilaminectomy surgery in January when lameness worsened to almost paralysis in her hind legs. She now uses a cart to get around! Her owner can no longer care for her because it's too taxing on her body to lift Roxxie in and out of the harness but she's willing to continue paying for Roxxie's pet insurance for the rest of her lifetime, which has covered 70 percent of her surgery and 90 percent of all her other treatments. Roxxie is already spayed and house trained. If you can help this sweet and loving dog, contact Maria Tan at Tanmaria@gmail.com or Ace of Hearts at 310-358-334.

Ace of Hearts is a 501c-3 dog rescue foundation dedicated to rescuing dogs—the day they are to be euthanized—from various Los Angeles shelters and placing them in loving homes. Doheny Drive from 1-4 p.m. Click here for information on how to adopt a rescue dog from Ace of Hearts.
