BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The Beverly Hills Community Services Department announced today that in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, it is canceling its Spring 2020 Art Show, which was scheduled for May 16 and 17 in Beverly Gardens Park.

“We know that our community members and the thousands of visitors that attend the spring art show highly anticipate its arrival, but hope all will understand why we had to cancel it in light of the current situation,” said Director Jenny Rogers. “Ensuring public safety and health of all is a top priority of the City."

Art lovers can take solace in the fact that the City has followed the lead of museums around the world by going online. Aficionados can log onto communitylifebh.org to view and purchase exhibited works. The site will also feature an “Artist of the Week” series, and interviews with exhibiting artists will air on BHTV.

The Beverly Hills music scene is also going virtual. The popular classical concert series Music in the Mansion, which typically plays the third Sunday of the month at Greystone Mansion and Gardens, will instead air on BHTV and stream on beverlyhills.org/live on April 19 at 2 p.m.

The April concert will feature the Zadig Trio, featuring violinist Boris Borgolotto, cellist Marc Girard Garcia, and pianist Ian Barber. The internationally renowned trio have won 11 international competition prizes and currently serve as artists-in-residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium.

"Music in the Mansion sells out each month, so we know how much people love this series," said Community Services Manager Kristin Buhagiar. "It's also performed in the intimate setting of the living room at Greystone Mansion and Gardens, the City's beloved estate and public garden, so we thought why not bring it to the intimate setting of our music lover's living rooms?"
