St. Patrick's Day 2018 Happenings Around LA

Early morning beer drinking, Irish food, parades, and themed desserts are all you need to feel the luck of the Irish.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Ah, yes, the luck of the Irish really is upon us. This year, St. Patrick's Day falls on a Saturday which means there's no reason to feel guilty when you wake up the next morning with a proper hangover. However, there's more to celebrating the holiday than drinking (although let's be honest, the Irish do love to have a drink or two) – here in Los Angeles, we've got Irish food and desserts to celebrate the day too.

Plan an outfit full of green to prevent yourself from getting pinched, set an alarm nice and early, and enjoy the holiday at one of these stops on Saturday, March 17:

Edamame Hummus from Panini Kabob Grill:

For those that are throwing St. Patrick's Day parties at home, Panini Kabob Grill has shared their green edamame hummus recipe with us to get you in the holiday spirit!

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups edamame beans
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic puree
  • 3 ounces fresh lime juice (juice from one whole lemon can be substituted)
  • 1½ cups olive oil

Put the edamame beans into a large saucepan. Fill with water to just above the level of the beans and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 15 minutes, until the beans are tender.

Transfer the beans to a colander, rinse with cold water and drain well. Add the beans and all other ingredients to a blender or food processor, or process with a stick blender in a large, round container. Process until smooth and creamy. Cover and refrigerate.
