Taller Than the Chef? Come June You'll Get a Free Meal at BierBeisl

Bernhard Mairinger tells us he doesn't know any other chefs who stand as tall as he does.

"Six one, six two, maybe," he said. 

The Austrian-born founder of the Beverly Hills' BeirBeisl is a full six feet, seven inches.

Last summer his trendy schnitzel, sausage and brew boutique noted that with a "Taller than Chef" special--a free entree of choice and dessert to any patron who was taller than Mairinger.

A dozen tall guys showed up to win. They brought their friends and kept the place busy in the summer months.

Mairinger told us Thursday they'll be doing that again in June.

He said he's there most nights so you can measure against him in person.

And if he happens to be gone, there's a mark on the wall you can use to qualify too.
