Tumi Opens on Rodeo Drive

Whether you're traveling across the country for business or crossing the Pacific for some sun-soaking on sandy beaches, international luggage maker Tumi has got an assortment of high-end containers for your belongings.

The 37-year-old suitcase company opened what it calls its new flagship store at 430 North Rodeo Drive Friday morning, giving a permanent home to its luxury travel bags in Beverly Hills. Tumi's travel gear was already being sold at nearby stores , and .

Why shop at the new Tumi store instead of its nearby authorized sellers?

"We have an exclusive line called the 'Beverly Hills Collection,'" said Tumi store manager Gilbert Lomeli. "And that is sold exclusively at the Rodeo location."

The new store is Tumi's 75th full-price retail location in the U.S. and the 12th in California.

“The store builds upon our most recent concept, but updates the look with a lighter feeling and more dramatic spaces. It is a perfect fit for the Rodeo Drive customer expecting a more unique experience,” said Alan Krantzler, Senior Vice President of Brand Management, in a press release.
