Uber Co-Founder Buys Record-Breaking $72 Mill Beverly Hills Home

The Uber co-founder beat out the previous record-holding $70 million Minecraft creator Markus Persson paid in 2014.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Uber co-founder Garrett Camp and his partner Eliza Nguyen broke records by buying a $72.5 million home in Trousdale Estates in Beverly Hills.

The sale price is the most anyone has ever paid for a home in Beverly Hills, beating out the previous record-holding $70 million Minecraft creator Markus Persson paid in 2014 for a home just up the street, Business Insider reported.

The property was never publicly listed for sale, but the residence was quietly marketed at $80 million by luxury real estate broker The Agency, Variety reported. Rolls Royce Beverly Hills hosted a marketing event at the property in April, which gave a select few a glimpse into the home and grounds, the news website said.

Previously, the home sold for $13.7 million in 2014. The 1.11 acre lot featured an 11,000 square foot home with a slight mid-century vibe, Forbes reported. It was torn down to create the home Camp and Nguyen just bought, complete with an infinity pool and sliding glass doors for indoor/outdoor living, the website said.
