Brush Fire Shuts Down 10 Freeway Lanes

A car fire spread to the roadside brush alongside the Santa Monica (10) Freeway near Bundy Drive.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A fire Near Bundy Drive forced the closure of several lanes of the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway Thursday morning, backing up traffic for miles.

The blaze was caused when a car fire spread to nearby brush alongside the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol. As of 11 a.m., the three right lanes of the freeway remailed closed due to the fire near Bundy Drive, the CHP reported. By 11:30 a.m., crews had the blaze doused and remained on the scene to mop up hot spots.

There are no reports of any injuries or significant damage.
