Commercial Building Burns in Westwood

Arson inspectors are evaluating the early morning blaze on West Santa Monica Boulevard.

L.A. city firefighters on Tuesday knocked down a stubborn blaze at a commercial building in Westwood, authorities said.

The fire at the three-story commercial building at 10537 W. Santa Monica Blvd. was reported at 6:45 a.m., said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.

The bulk of the flames were quickly extinguished, Stewart said, but flames continued to burn in the walls and in the floor of the building’s second story.
